Informing Invasive Species Regulation

Portfolio Description

We conducted ecological and socio-economic assessments for non-native species in New York State. These assessments inform the official lists of known invasive animal and plant species for the purpose of regulating their sale and transport through the Invasive Species Prevention Act.

A list of Invasive Species Assessments done by Adirondack Research can be found here.

Lycorma delicatula (spotted lanternfly) has a diet that includes some of New York’s most celebrated flora.

Hydrilla verticilla tangled on an outboard motor. This aquatic invasive plant is very aggressive and can grow up to an inch per day.
