Evan Spencer
Early Detection Team Field Crew Leader
Evan Spencer graduated Paul Smith’s College(PSC) in Spring 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife Science with a concentration in fisheries. During his time at PSC, Evan worked in the Natural Science Department as Technical Assistant for the Fisheries and Aquatic Science Lab, developed the student chapter of the American Fisheries Society of which he is a member, and was a student-athlete on a National Championship Nordic ski team. Evan is interested in observing and studying fish and invertebrates in aquatic ecosystems as well as understanding stream dynamics and hydrology in watersheds. Currently, he is studying freshwater invertebrate ecology by conducting a study on the diel drift movements of aquatic macroinvertebrates in streams. Originally from Vermont, Evan is at home in the Adirondacks where he has spent time since his youth boating, fishing, and hiking throughout the year which was ultimately a mechanism for instilling a curiosity for ecological communities. When outside of work, Evan enjoys biking, cross-country skiing, and spending time at camp.
