As a plant ecologist, Owen brings Geographic Information Systems (GIS), botany field and office research, writing, and survey skills to the team. Owen is originally from Alfred, NY, and first visited the Adirondacks as an undergraduate while conducting field research for a plant biology lab. After a tour as a Marine linguist, he chose to return to Saranac Lake in 2014 to complete a degree in Environmental Science at Paul Smith’s College and pursue his passion for ecological issues and outdoor recreation.
Owen has been a key member of the team for multiple clients, including the Essex Farm Institute, The Nature Conservancy, NYSDEC, APIPP, USDA and Intervale Lowlands Preserve.
