Dr. David Coyle
Dave has worked throughout the eastern U.S. conducting research on the impacts of invasive species on forest health, using silviculture to improve pest resistance in forests, and managing forests to increase productivity. Dave works with Adirondack Research to improve forest management and information delivery with our larger landowners.
Dave has over 18 years of post-graduate experience in forest ecology and management. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin and has worked for the USDA Forest Service and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dave’s expertise includes entomology, pathology, tree physiology, invasive species, and forestry, and he has considerable experience designing and analyzing large field studies.
In addition to partnering with Adirondack Research, Dave is an Extension Associate for the Southern Regional Extension Forestry group, and leads the Forest Health and Invasive Species program.
