Julia Luna

AIS Field Assistant & Scientific Communicator

Julia graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Environment and Sustainability. Though originally from Brazil, she feels very lucky to have grown up in the Fingerlakes region where she first learned to love the forest and water bodies of New York. She has had hands-on experience with water resource management in the Adirondacks, the Southwest, recreation industries, and even internationally in Thailand and Brazil. Despite these wide-ranging experiences, she finds the Adirondack one of the most fulfilling places to live and work. She has previously worked in invasive species outreach and capacity building at the Adirondack Council and is thrilled to be yet again working in a place she loves while about expanding her water conservation skillsets. In her free time, Julia enjoys paddling, hiking, sewing, cooking, and spying on birds with her binoculars.
